Lumberman’s Wholesale Inc. was founded in 1980 by Ron Esposito as a two-step distributor of building materials and paint sundries to lumber dealers in Chicago and the surrounding counties. Ron believed that business is about people, and developing relationships built on integrity and trust would lead to his building of a successful company.

Growing a Family Business into Who We Are Today
Lumberman’s Wholesale Inc. was founded in 1980 by Ron Esposito as a two-step distributor of building materials and paint sundries to lumber dealers in Chicago and the surrounding counties. Ron believed that business is about people, and developing relationships built on integrity and trust would lead to his building of a successful company.
In 2022, we were approached by a few key vendor partners to expand with a new location in the St. Louis Metro area. This location opened in 2023 and extends our primary trade territory into Southern Illinois, Northwest Kentucky, and Eastern Missouri.
Today, our core trade territory consists of Southern Wisconsin, Illinois, Eastern Iowa, Northwest Indiana, Missouri, and Northwest Kentucky, and additional LTL distribution into dealers in 20 states outside of Illinois. We work to bring problem solving and innovative building products to the market that offer solutions to the professional builder and remodeler. Day in and day out, we are your resource for product knowledge, technical information, and helpful people that are quick and responsive. Our team is committed to mutual success with both our customers and vendors and strives to get there with relationships built on the same level of trust and respect established in 1980.
